The Power of Testimony in Evangelism
Submitted by Zeny Vidacak, SQ Pastor
On the last night of public Evangelism meetings I now include a Party and Celebration evening. On this night there is no preaching. Instead there are four important parts:
1. Testimony time
2. Thanksgiving
3. Giving gifts (books)
4. A Meal together
the inclusion of a Testimony time helped people seal their personal decisions more firmly for Jesus Christ
During testimony time I give people chance to talk about their spiritual journey. Specifically I ask them:
- to reflect briefly on what they have learned and what has personally touched them and made an impact on them
- to share any answers to prayers (when people begin to share answers to their prayers, this is where things become amazing to hear how people have reached out to God and how He has answered during the series).
- to ask questions they still want to ask
I saw the opportunity for people to share their journey transform evangelism meetings in both Mongolia and Monte Negro.
In both cases the inclusion of a Testimony time helped people seal their personal decisions more firmly for Jesus Christ.
